A vision is not just a picture of what could be; It is an appeal to our better selves,
a call to become something more." - Rosabeth Moss Kanter
Throughout the duration of the summer, the ladies of Reading Rebels developed great insight about themselves and the kind of lives they want to lead. They also discovered that consistent effort, hard work, determination, and a commitment to success lead to great rewards. After months of making the right choices and dedicating themselves to becoming the best students and people, there was no better reward for these amazing young ladies than to show them where their choices and dedication can one day lead. From August 14-16, the ladies were taken on a trip to Southern California, where they visited the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and surrounding landmarks and attractions. During their three day trip, the ladies began to truly picture their futures as college students. They formed an even more firm vision of what could be if they continue to work hard, make the right choices, and never give up. The ladies experienced a call to become something more, a call to make a difference, and "once young people experience a true change of heart, they can never go back to how they were before; they are changed forever."
